Get started with Convo on your Mac or Windows PC in just a few simple steps. Choose your platform below.
Installing on Mac
System Requirements
- • macOS: macOS 10.15 (Catalina) or later
- • Processor: Intel or Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3)
- • RAM: 8GB minimum (16GB recommended)
- • Storage: 500MB available space
- • Internet: Active internet connection required
Step 1: Download Convo
- Visit www.itsconvo.com
- Click the "Download" button (the site detects your operating system automatically)
- The convo-setup.dmg file will download to your Downloads folder
- Wait for the download to complete
Step 2: Install Convo
- Open the downloaded file
Double-click
convo-setup.dmgin your Downloads folder - Drag Convo to Applications
A window will appear showing the Convo icon and your Applications folder. Drag the Convo icon into the Applications folder
- Eject the installer
Once copied, right-click the Convo disk icon on your desktop and select "Eject"
Step 3: First Launch
- Open Convo
Go to Applications folder and double-click Convo
- Security prompt (if shown)
If macOS shows a security warning, go to System Settings → Privacy & Security → General, and click "Open Anyway"
- Grant permissions
Convo will request permissions for microphone and accessibility. Click "Allow" for each
Pro tip: Add Convo to your Dock by right-clicking the icon in your Dock while it's running and selecting Options → Keep in Dock.
Required Permissions (Mac)
For Convo to work properly on Mac, you'll need to grant the following permissions:
Microphone Access
Required to capture and analyze meeting audio in real-time
System Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone → ✓ Convo
Accessibility Access
Allows Convo to display AI insights and suggestions
System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility → ✓ Convo
Screen Recording (Optional)
Enables advanced meeting detection and context awareness
System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen Recording → ✓ Convo
Troubleshooting (Mac)
"Convo can't be opened because it is from an unidentified developer"
This is a standard macOS security feature. Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security, and click "Open Anyway" next to the message about Convo.
App won't launch after installation
- Ensure you have macOS 10.15 or later
- Restart your computer and try again
- Delete Convo from Applications and reinstall
- Check that you have sufficient storage space
Permission dialogs not appearing
Manually grant permissions by going to System Settings → Privacy & Security, then add Convo to Microphone, Accessibility, and Screen Recording.
Installing on Windows
System Requirements
- • Windows: Windows 10 or later
- • Processor: Intel or AMD (64-bit)
- • RAM: 8GB minimum (16GB recommended)
- • Storage: 500MB available space
- • Internet: Active internet connection required
Step 1: Download Convo
- Visit www.itsconvo.com
- Click the "Download for Windows" button
- The convo-setup.exe file will download to your Downloads folder
- Wait for the download to complete
Step 2: Install Convo
- Run the installer
Double-click
convo-setup.exein your Downloads folder - Windows SmartScreen (if shown)
If Windows shows a SmartScreen warning, click "More info" then "Run anyway"
- Follow the setup wizard
Click through the installer steps. You can keep the default installation location or choose a custom folder
- Complete installation
Click "Finish" to complete the setup. Convo will launch automatically
Step 3: First Launch
- Open Convo
Find Convo in your Start menu or double-click the desktop shortcut
- Grant permissions
Convo will request microphone access. Click "Allow" when prompted
Pro tip: Pin Convo to your taskbar by right-clicking the icon in the taskbar while it's running and selecting "Pin to taskbar".
Required Permissions (Windows)
For Convo to work properly on Windows, you'll need to grant the following permissions:
Microphone Access
Required to capture and analyze meeting audio in real-time
Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone → Allow Convo
Audio Loopback
Allows Convo to capture system audio from meetings
Convo will set this up automatically during first launch
Troubleshooting (Windows)
"Windows protected your PC" SmartScreen warning
This is a standard Windows security feature for new applications. Click "More info" then "Run anyway" to proceed with installation.
App won't launch after installation
- Ensure you have Windows 10 or later
- Restart your PC and try again
- Uninstall Convo from Settings → Apps and reinstall
- Check that you have sufficient storage space
Microphone not detected
Go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone, ensure "Microphone access" is turned on and Convo is allowed.
Sign In or Create Account
- Launch Convo
- Click "Sign In" if you have an account, or "Create Account" for new users
- Follow the prompts to complete authentication
- Once signed in, Convo is ready to use!
Updating Convo
Convo automatically checks for updates when you launch the app. When an update is available:
- A notification will appear in the app
- Click "Update Now" to download and install
- Convo will restart with the latest version
Uninstalling Convo
On Mac:
- Quit Convo if it's running
- Open your Applications folder
- Drag Convo to the Trash
- Empty the Trash to complete removal
On Windows:
- Quit Convo if it's running
- Open Settings → Apps → Installed apps
- Find Convo and click "Uninstall"
- Follow the prompts to complete removal
