Get started with Convo and experience AI-powered meeting assistance in your first conversation.
Before your first meeting
- Download the Convo app - Available for Mac and Windows
- Complete account setup - Sign in with Google or email, then set your preferences
- Grant permissions - Microphone on both platforms, and on Mac also screen recording, which is how Convo hears the other side of the call
Starting your first meeting
- Join your meeting - Open your call as normal in Zoom, Teams, Meet, Webex, Slack, or anything that plays audio
- Start recording - Press ⌘L (Ctrl+L on Windows) or click Record. If you join a call without starting it, Convo detects the meeting and asks whether to record. It never records without you
- Watch it work - Once recording, Convo transcribes both sides and surfaces suggestions as the conversation unfolds
- Ask anything - Press ⌘Enter or click a suggestion to get help drawn from your live conversation
What to expect during the meeting
- Suggestion pills: Click pre-built prompts like "How can I answer?" to get instant help
- Ask AI: Type any question and get answers based on your live conversation
- Context awareness: AI responses draw from your transcript, uploaded documents, and past meetings
- Stays out of the way: Convo works quietly in the background, surfacing suggestions when the moment calls for it and answering the instant you ask
After the meeting
Once your meeting ends, Convo will:
- Generate a meeting summary with key points
- Identify action items and follow-ups
- Save conversation insights to your dashboard
- Update participant profiles with new information

Troubleshooting common issues
Convo isn't detecting my meeting
Make sure your system audio is enabled and Convo has microphone permission. On Mac, also grant screen recording, which Convo needs to hear the other side. You can always start recording yourself with ⌘L.
Ask AI not giving relevant answers
This is normal in the first few minutes. Convo needs enough conversation context to provide useful answers. Wait until there's a few minutes of transcript before using Ask AI.
Audio quality issues
Check your microphone settings and ensure you're using a good quality headset or microphone.
