Connect your Google Calendar or Outlook Calendar to see upcoming meetings in Convo, link calls to their events, filter conversation history by meetings you organized, and match attendees to your CRM contacts.
Supported Calendar Providers
Google Calendar
Full integration with read-only access to your calendar events.
- Upcoming meetings in the Dashboard, from every calendar you have visible
- Filter "My Calls" by meetings you organized
- Color-coded event urgency (15min, 1hr, upcoming)
- One-click to open events in Google Calendar
- Secure OAuth 2.0 authentication
Outlook Calendar
Full integration via Microsoft's secure sign-in, with the same features: upcoming events, event linking, and attendee matching.
You connect one provider at a time: to switch between Google and Outlook, disconnect the current one first in Settings.
Apple Calendar / iCloud
Not currently supported. Contact ivan@itsconvo.com if you need this integration.
Connecting Your Calendar
- Open the Convo dashboard and click Settings
- In the Integrations section of the sidebar, pick Google Calendar or Outlook Calendar
- Click Connect: your browser opens the provider's sign-in page
- Sign in and review the permissions (view events, read-only)
- Click Allow: you're redirected back and the page shows Connected
Read-only access: Convo only reads your calendar events. It cannot create, modify, or delete events. Your calendar data remains secure and unmodified.
What Convo Can Access
Event Information
Convo reads these details from your calendar events:
- Event title
- Start and end times
- Event description
- Location or meeting URL
- Attendee list (email addresses)
- Organizer information
- A link to open the event in your calendar
Calendar Scope
Convo reads every calendar you have visible in Google Calendar: your main calendar, secondary calendars you created, appointment schedules, and shared calendars you've ticked in the sidebar. Holiday and birthday feeds are skipped. If a calendar shouldn't appear in Convo, untick it in Google Calendar and Convo follows.
Time Range
Convo fetches upcoming events starting from the current time. Past events are not synced. The Dashboard shows your upcoming events in a scrollable row.
Calendar Features in Convo
1. Dashboard Event Display
- Color-coded urgency:
- Red - Meeting starts in less than 15 minutes
- Orange - Meeting starts in less than 1 hour
- Green - Meeting starts in more than 1 hour
- Event cards show: Title, start time, duration, location (or attendee count)
- Time until: Badge displaying "in 2h", "in 15m", or "now"
- Quick access: Click any event card to open it in your calendar
2. "My Calls" Filtering
How "My Calls" Works
Convo matches your conversation history to calendar events you organized:
- Convo compares conversation start times with calendar event times
- Allows 15-minute buffer for late starts or early joins
- Checks if you're the organizer (creator) of the matched event
- Filters to show only meetings you organized
3. Event Linking and CRM Matching
Convo links conversations to calendar events automatically when times overlap (with a 15-minute buffer), and you can link one manually via Select event at the top of any call page. The linked event is where Convo reads attendee emails from, which powers CRM matching: one click matches attendees to your Salesforce, HubSpot, Pipedrive, or Attio contacts.
Managing Your Connection
Checking Status, Disconnecting, Reconnecting
- Status: Settings → Integrations → your calendar provider. Connected means you're set.
- Disconnect: same page, click Disconnect. Convo deletes its stored tokens; events disappear from the Dashboard. Your conversation history stays intact.
- Reconnect any time by running the connection steps again. Events reappear immediately.
Privacy and Security
OAuth 2.0 Security
Convo uses industry-standard OAuth 2.0. Your Google or Microsoft password is never shared with Convo; the provider handles all authentication directly.
Read-Only Access
Convo requests read-only calendar scopes. It can view your events but cannot create, modify, or delete anything on your calendar.
Token Storage
Calendar access tokens are stored securely on Convo's backend, refreshed automatically, and deleted immediately when you disconnect.
Revoking Access
You can revoke Convo's calendar access in two ways:
- In Convo: Settings → Integrations → your provider → Disconnect (recommended)
- At the provider: myaccount.google.com/permissions for Google, or your Microsoft account's app permissions for Outlook
Troubleshooting
Calendar connection fails
- Ensure you're signed into the correct account in your browser
- Check that you clicked "Allow" on the consent screen
- Try disconnecting and reconnecting
- Ensure pop-ups aren't blocked in your browser
A calendar or meeting type is missing from the Dashboard
Convo mirrors your Google Calendar visibility settings. Open Google Calendar and make sure the calendar is ticked in the left sidebar; Convo shows events from every calendar you have visible there.
"My Calls" is empty but I organized meetings
- Ensure your calendar is connected
- Check that you're the organizer (creator) of the calendar events
- Verify conversation times match calendar event times (within 15 minutes)
- Conversations must have been recorded; past unrecorded meetings won't appear
Wrong calendar account connected
- Disconnect the current calendar in Settings
- Sign out of the wrong account in your browser
- Reconnect and pick the correct account during sign-in
Limitations
Read-Only Access
Convo cannot create, edit, or delete calendar events. You manage events in your calendar app.
One Provider at a Time
Google Calendar and Outlook Calendar can't both be connected at once. Disconnect one to switch to the other.
No Real-Time Sync
Events are fetched when you open the Dashboard or refresh. Changes in your calendar may take a few minutes to appear in Convo.
