Understanding the dashboard

Updated August 25th, 2026

The Convo dashboard is your command center for managing calls, tracking action items, and preparing AI assistance. This guide covers the dashboard in the Convo desktop app on Mac and Windows.

Dashboard Layout

The dashboard has two main areas:

Left Sidebar - Navigation with Home, All calls, Getting Started, and Settings, plus a Call Types folder section and a collapsible Knowledge group (Overview, Ask AI, Instant Cues)

Main Content - Dynamic area that changes based on your selected view

Open the dashboard from the Convo icon in your menu bar (Mac) or system tray (Windows), or use the "Open Toolbar" button in the sidebar to switch back to the compact toolbar view.

Home View

The Home view gives you a quick overview of what's coming up and what you've recently discussed.

Upcoming Events

After connecting your Google Calendar or Outlook Calendar, you'll see your upcoming events displayed as a scrollable row of cards showing:

  • Event title and time
  • Duration and location (if available)
  • Countdown badge (color-coded: red for urgent, orange for soon, green for later)
  • Number of attendees

Click any event card to open it in your calendar. If you haven't connected your calendar yet, you'll see a "Connect calendar" button with skeleton placeholder cards.

Recent Calls

Below upcoming events, you'll find your recent conversations grouped by date (Today, Yesterday, or specific dates). Each call shows:

  • Title (auto-generated from conversation content)
  • Processing badge (if AI is still analyzing)
  • Recording indicator (red "REC" badge for active recordings)
  • Time of conversation

Click any call to view the full conversation details, transcript, and AI insights.

All Calls View

View and search through your complete conversation history. This view includes:

Tabs

  • All calls - Every conversation recorded by Convo
  • My calls - Only calls from meetings you organized in Google Calendar

Search & Filters

Use the search icon to find conversations by keyword, participant name, or topic. You can also sort by date, duration, or title using the filter menu.

Pro tip: Use search to quickly find specific discussions or action items from past calls.

Overview

The Overview section (under Knowledge in the sidebar) provides AI-powered insights from your recent conversations.

Weekly Insights

Three insight cards show your weekly activity:

Conversations

Total number of calls this week

Total Time

Combined duration of all conversations

Top Topic

Most frequently discussed subject

Action Items

Convo's AI automatically extracts commitments and tasks from your last 14 days of conversations. Each action item shows:

  • Task description
  • Due date (if mentioned)
  • Overdue indicator (red text for past-due items)
  • Checkbox to mark complete

Only high-quality, actionable items are shown (maximum 3 per conversation, sorted by importance). Overdue commitments are flagged in red so nothing slips.

Instant Cues

Instant Cues (under Knowledge in the sidebar) lets you create Q&A cues that Convo can reference during live calls to help you respond quickly and accurately.

Managing Instant Cues

  • Create cues - Add questions, answers, and the situations where they apply
  • Edit cues - Update existing Q&A pairs as your knowledge evolves
  • View cues - Review your full library of prepared responses

During calls, when you use Ask AI or click suggestion pills, Convo draws from your prepared cues to help you deliver consistent, accurate answers.

Ask AI

Ask AI (under Knowledge in the sidebar) is where you upload knowledge sources so Convo can search them in real-time during calls.

Knowledge Sources

Connect your documentation, sales decks, websites, and other reference materials. Convo supports three upload methods:

  • From a website - Enter a URL to import web content
  • From a file - Upload PDF or text documents
  • Manually - Paste or type content directly

Testing Your Knowledge

After uploading documents, use the preview panel to test how Convo responds to questions. This helps you verify that your knowledge sources are working correctly before your next call.

Example: Upload your product documentation, then ask "What are the key features?" to see how Convo extracts and presents information.

Settings

Access settings from the sidebar to manage your account, preferences, and workspace.

My Account

  • Upload profile picture (click avatar to change)
  • Update full name and role
  • Delete account (in Danger Zone section)

Preferences

  • Launch at startup - Automatically open Convo when your computer starts
  • Notify me before meetings - Get a reminder before calendar events (1, 5, 10, or 15 minutes)
  • Auto-detect meetings - Show a notification when a call is detected via microphone usage
  • Auto-stop on silence - Stop recording after 10 minutes of silence, with a 1-minute warning first

Integrations

Connect Google Calendar, Outlook, Slack, Notion, your CRM (Salesforce, HubSpot, Pipedrive, or Attio), Zapier, and the Convo API from the Integrations group in Settings.

Workspace (General)

  • Workspace name and avatar
  • Company information (name, website, description)
