How does Convo access my Slack calls?

It listens for "John will..." or "@Sarah can you..." on Slack and maps names to Trello user accounts. You can review assignments before they're created.

Can it update existing Trello tasks or only create new ones?

Both. If a Slack discussion references a Trello task ID or name, Convo updates that task. Otherwise, it creates new tasks with proper linking.
