HOW TO WRITE A MEETING AGENDA
Start with one sentence: "By the end of this meeting, we will have ___." If you can’t fill in the blank, you don’t need a meeting.
Put the most important items first. If the meeting runs over, at least you covered what mattered most.
Without time limits, the first topic eats the whole meeting. Be specific: "10 minutes" forces focus better than "a few minutes."
Each agenda item needs someone responsible for presenting it and keeping it on track. No owner = no accountability.
Reserve 3-5 minutes at the end to capture who does what by when. A meeting without action items was just a conversation.
Attendees arrive prepared, discussions move faster, and you signal that their time matters.
