Records to Webex cloud. Requires a paid plan and admin permissions.
How to record Webex locally
Most common method for Webex users
Start or join your Webex meeting
Open Webex desktop app and start or join a meeting. You must be the host or have recording permissions.
Click the Record button
In the meeting toolbar, click the red Record button (circular icon).
Choose recording location
Select "Record on my computer" (or cloud if available). Recording starts immediately.
Stop recording when done
Click the Stop Recording button or end the meeting. Webex will convert the file automatically.
Limitations of Webex Recording
- •Cloud recording requires paid plan and IT admin setup
- •Local recording only works on desktop (not mobile or web)
- •All participants see recording indicator
- •No automatic action items or meeting notes
- •Large video files consume storage
